IoT Environmental Monitoring System
A desk-mounted IoT system that continuously monitors temperature, humidity, and light intensity in an office and logs the data to a cloud server over WiFi. A Wemos D1 board reads a set of analog and digital sensors, including photocells for light intensity, and pushes measurements to the server at least six times per hour for continuous runs of a week or more.
Because the unit lives on a desk, the design had to be as considered as the electronics. All components fit within a pegboard footprint inside a custom enclosure, balancing safety, functionality, and a clean form factor. The project brought together several threads from the course: sensor integration, microcontroller programming, cloud communication, and 3D-printed enclosure design, all in a single working device.
